The Grange is in the picturesque village of Saltwood – set in peaceful and pretty countryside – 2 miles from the sea.
The Annex is directly opposite the fields of Saltwood Farm through which the church grounds can be accessed. There is plenty of routes for rambling. In the village there is a local shop; The Castle Pub; and a bistro/restaurant Saltwood on the Green which offers brunch/lunch/dinner using locally-sourced produce and comes highly recommended!
Five minutes away is the Cinque Port town of Hythe with its beautiful canal, and pebble beaches where you can enjoy an icecream! There you will find many cafes and restaurants and some lovely quaint shops to explore. On the beach there is a fish market with it’s own cafe, Grigg’s – brunch on the beach is not to be missed!
Local nearby attractions include: Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway (3 miles); Sene Valley golf course (3 miles), Port Lympne Wild Animal Park (6 miles); Lympne Castle (4 miles); Dover Castle (16 miles) and the historic city of Canterbury (17 miles). There are plenty of fascinating historic sites nearby and plenty of activities available (e.g. rowing boats (on the canal); tennis; water sports; swimming; biking; walking etc) – please don’t hesitate to contact us for more information.
Further afield, London is a 40 minute train ride from nearby Ashford. The Annex is also conveniently situated as a stop-off en route or returning from France via ferry or the channel tunnel.
